ECB declares final delimitation for Thromde electionsThe Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) has declared the final delimitation of the 15 new Dzongkhag Thromdes and 18 Yenlag Thromdes for the Thromde elections.

The elections will be conducted, along with other four old Thromdes; Thimphu, Phuentshogling, Gelegphu, and Samdrup Jongkhar, at the end of this year.

The Chief Election Commissioner, Dasho Kunzang Wangdi said they could finalize the delimitation after the parliament amended the Local Government Act in the last session. “Besides, they have also declared the boundaries of the Dzongkhag Thromdes.”

For the two Yenlag Thromdes; Damji in Gasa and Dhosoom in Trashi Yangtse, which do not have any registered voters, elections will be conducted later.
