South Korea gives Bhutan sporting equipment worth US$ 44,000

South Korea gives Bhutan sporting equipment worth USD 44,000Bhutan Olympic Committee received sporting equipment worth US$ 44,000 from South Korea, today.

South Korea’s Member of the National Assembly, Elisa Lee, who is behind the assistance handed over the equipment to Bhutan Olympic Committee’s Secretary General, Sonam Karma Tshering.

Elisa Lee, who is also the former World Champion in table tennis, said it was her vision to try and help athletes from developing countries achieve their aspiration and perform at the international stage.

She added her commitment to support athletes in countries, such as Bhutan, comes from her personal experience of trials as a female athlete.

The assistance from Korean Education, Culture, Sport and Tourism Committee and Korean Olympic Committees comprises includes tracksuits, taekwondo floor mats, boxing uniforms, boxing gloves, bow handles, arrows and bow stands, amongst other.
