DPT--TSirang“People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is compromising the stability of the nation and is undermining everything which has been achieved so far.” The president of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT), Jigmi Y. Thinley was speaking to the people of Sergithang-Tsirang Toed Constituency in Tsirang, yesterday.

Jigmi Y.Thinley said the Party is shocked and alarmed that PDP can do anything, to the extent of even compromising the foreign relations, just to be in power.

He said DPT believes in equality and the stand of theirs has made some of the powerful people unhappy in the last five years.  “They have criticised and mocked DPT with an intention to remove the party from the government.” Jigmi Y. Thinley said these people have paid money to some print media and others to operate in social media to criticise DPT government.  “Even then we remained quite. Their main intention was to file a case in the court, which takes months and years to solve. So, if we were to file a case than everyone, including the Prime Minister would be in courts fighting cases and we would have achieved nothing in the last five years”

He said they remained silent believing in Bhutanese people to understand and analyse what is wrong and what is right and never to be influenced.

Meanwhile, the president also promised the people of Tsriang Toed, Phungtenchhu and Sergithang a black-topped road and a grade-1 Basic Health Unit, if the Party comes back to power. The farm road from Chachey market to the three gewog centres, the president said, is the worst farm road in the country. “…we have failed here,” said Jigmi Y. Thinley. However, he said, the farm road will have the first preference, as soon as they come back to power.

Later that  afternoon, DPT’s President met with the people of Kilkhorthang-Mendrelgang Constituency.
