Final scrutiny of NC nominees

NC-HaaThe final scrutiny of nominations for the National Council elections concluded, today. Of the 70 gewog nominees, two did not file their nominations, and one withdrew.

From the 67 contesting for the 20 NC seats on April 23, only five are women.

Haa nominations

Four candidates have been confirmed to contest in the NC elections from Haa Dzongkhag.

Tenzin Norbu, 28, will be contesting from Katsho Gewog; former NC member, Tshering Dorji, 38, from Bji Gewog; Khandu Wangchuk, 32, from Samar Gewog, and Choda Jamtsho, 28, from Haa Thromdey.

The candidates have been briefed by the returning and electoral officers on the dos and don’ts during the campaigning period.

The candidates begin campaigning from April 2.

There are 6,870 eligible voters in Haa.

 

NC-PgatshelPemagatshel nominations

Three candidates from the dzongkhag will be contesting in the NC elections.

Pema Wangchuk is contesting from Nanong Gewog, former NC member Jigmi Rinzin from Shumar Gewog and Sherab Jamtsho has been nominated from Dechenling Gewog.
