Gewog Zomdu in Zhemgang concludes

zhemgangZomduThe Zhemgang Gewog Zomdu for the nomination of National Council candidates, ended yesterday in Buli under Nangkor Gewog.

Pema Lhamo, a former NC Member of Parliament from Nangkor Gewog has been nominated  from her gewog with 142 ‘Yes’ votes against 86 ‘No’ votes. A total of 228 votes were cast by the people of Nangkor Gewog, yesterday.

Pema Lhamo will be competing against four other candidates: Pema Drakpa from Bardo Gewog, Dorji Kadin of Goshing Gewog, Ugyen Chophel from Phangkhar Gewog, and Yeshi Tshomo of Ngangla Gewog.

Of the 8 gewogs in Zhemgang; Trong, Shingkhar, and Bjoka do not have nominees.

Of the 5 nominees, 2 are women.

Zhemgang Dzongkhag has 16,014 eligible voters and 39 polling stations.
