In Gelephu today, more than a hundred practitioners and retreatants, led by the Gyeltshen Trulku, gathered at the airport construction site, not with tools, but with prayers. The group is performing a series of prayers and rituals to ensure that the aspiration of His Majesty The King for Gelephu Mindfulness City unfolds without obstacles.

The group carried out a series of sacred rituals, offering a spiritual contribution aimed at ensuring the success of Gelephu Mindfulness City. Their practices are intended to purify negativities, remove obstacles, and invoke powerful blessings for the project’s smooth progress.

Over the next two days, in addition to the Drakmar Jinsek, the group will perform extensive incense offerings and a land purification ceremony. These will be followed by ground purification rituals, practices designed to cleanse, harmonise, and energise the site where the Mindfulness City and international airport are taking shape.

“The Gelephu Mindfulness City is a noble initiative of His Majesty The King. While large-scale works are underway, we felt that even if we cannot contribute physically or financially, we can offer these sacred prayers to support Our King and help the nation realise this vision,” said Sherab Dendup, Khenpo.

As spiritual events continue to unfold, the Mindfulness City is emerging as a hub not just of infrastructure, but of sacred activity. While the airport is scheduled to open in 2029, its foundation is being built today through a remarkable union of faith, dedication, and prayer.
