With the second round of the BoB Bhutan Premier League 2025 season wrapping up on Sunday, defending champions Paro FC are once again leading the title charge, with two wins from two matches. Last season’s runners-up Transport United are also in the mix, matching Paro’s perfect start, alongside Thimphu City. Is the league shaping up for another three-horse race among the big three?

Paro FC made a dominant statement in their second match, defeating Southern City FC 4–1 at the Gelephu Public Ground on Monday.

Paro opened the scoring and added a second just four minutes after the break. Southern City briefly bounced back with a goal in the 59th minute, but Paro sealed the match with two more goals in the last quarter.

On Saturday, Thimphu City continued their winning form with a 2–1 victory over Ugyen Academy FC in Punakha.
The first half ended goalless, but Thimphu City struck twice in the second half. Ugyen Academy pulled one back in the 79th minute but couldn’t find the equaliser.

On Sunday, Transport United FC secured a narrow 1–0 win over Tensung FC at Wangdue Phodrang.
The match was evenly contested, with both sides failing to score in the first half. The breakthrough came in the 82nd minute as Transport United clinched the win late in the game.

Meanwhile, RTC FC drew 1–1 with Tsirang FC in their second-round clash at the Tsirang Artificial Turf on Friday.
The game remained goalless at halftime. RTC took the lead in the 69th minute, but Tsirang equalised dramatically in added time.

BFF Academy earned their second draw of the season, finishing 1–1 against Samtse FC.
BFF scored first in the 59th minute, but Samtse responded in the 82nd minute, sharing the spoils in a closely fought contest.

After three matches played, Thimphu City FC tops the table with 9 points. They are followed by Paro FC and Transport United FC with 6 points each having played two games each. RTC sits in fourth with 4 points, while BFF Academy follows with 2 points from two draws.

Ugyen Academy, Samtse FC, and Tsirang FC have each earned one point so far, having drawn one match a piece in the league.

At the bottom of the table, Southern City and Tensung FC have yet to register a point, losing both of their opening games.

Meanwhile, in the race for the top scorer award, Jetsuen Dorji of Thimphu City leads with three goals in three matches.

Four players scored two goals each, Foda Fofana of Transport United against Samtse FC, Rinzin Dorji of BFF Academy against Ugyen Academy FC, Dawa Tshering of Thimphu City against Tsirang FC, and MD Rousel Ba of Paro FC against Southern City FC.

The third round of matches is yet to be played by most teams, including Paro FC and Transport United. As the league progresses, the next few match days will be crucial in shaping the title race and relegation battle.
