The Bhutanese duo of Kuendhen Rigsel Dorjee and Kelzang Lhatsho Tshering lost to their Pakistani opponents in the second round of the ITF Asia 14 and Under Development Championships 2025 in Sri Lanka. They competed in the boys’ and girls’ singles categories respectively.

After their defeats in the main draw, both of them faced opponents from Nepal in the consolation round but were unable to win.

They will have another opportunity to compete in the consolation round tomorrow.

A consolation round is a phase in tournaments that allows players who lose in the main draw to compete further.

The first round of the ITF Asia 14 and Under Development Championships 2025 was held a few days ago. Kuendhen Rigsel Dorjee and Kelzang Lhatsho Tshering also participated in that round but they lost.

The second round of the tournament will conclude on Friday.

About ten countries from South Asia, South-East Asia and East Asia are participating in the championship.

The event focuses on the development of young tennis talent in Asia, providing them with competitive opportunities to improve their skills and gain valuable experience in an international setting.

The tournament is part of the ITF’s broader efforts to promote tennis at the grassroots level and nurture future stars.
