At the passing out parade of Officer Cadets and Recruits of the Royal Bhutan Police, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay urged the armed personnel to continue further to improve Bhutan’s position as a peaceful nation. Bhutan is ranked 21st in the 2024 Global Peace Index out of 163 countries. RBP’s passing out parade was held at Jigmeling Parade ground today.

A total of 17 Officer Cadets, including 10 males and seven females, alongside 260 Recruits comprising 207 males and 53 females passed out from the RBP Training Centre in Jigmeling, Sarpang.

The POP ceremony marked the completion of training for the 43rd batch of Officer Cadets and the 56th batch of Recruits.

Highlighting Bhutan’s rank in the 2024 Global Peace Index, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay commended the unwavering dedication and service of the Royal Bhutan Police in upholding law and order.

The Prime Minister said, “The responsibilities of the Royal Bhutan Police are endless, and because of this, we hold deep gratitude and immense pride for the entire police force. We have unwavering confidence that the police force will serve our country with dedication and integrity. During today’s passing-out parade, which includes 277 personnel comprising both cadets and recruits, we bestow the same trust in you. We are certain you will serve the King and the nation with the same excellence demonstrated in today’s ceremony. The outstanding reputation of the Jigmeling Training Centre further strengthens our confidence in your ability to serve well.”

The passing-out recruits took an oath of allegiance and awards were presented to outstanding trainees in areas such as academics, sports, games, and drills.

The recruits underwent extensive training in various outdoor activities, including weapon handling, drills, minor tactics, and sports.

The training duration for Officer Cadets is 18 months and nine months for the Recruits.

They also study law and related acts including the Civil and Criminal Procedures Code during the training.
