The Hejo crematorium in Thimphu will be relocated to Hongtsho. The initial high-level concept design is completed and works are in progress for the final design. Infrastructure and Transport Minister Chandra Bahadur Gurung shared this during the meet the press session today.
MoIT Minister: "We have decided to relocate Hejo Crematorium to Hongtsho in line with the Thimphu Structure Plan. The identified area at Hongtsho is around 46 acres, of which 10 acres are private land. The new crematorium will have better facilities."
