Druk Phuensum Tshogpa declares five more candidates

The Druk Phuensum Tshogpa declared five more candidates for the upcoming National Assembly elections in the capital, today. They will represent a constituency each in Gasa, Thimphu, Tsirang, Monggar, and Haa. The party has confirmed 31 candidates, so far.

Pema Wangchuk is the party’s candidate for Gasa’s Khatoed_Laya Constituency. The 31-year-old holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialisation in finance from the Lovely Professional University in India. He worked as a tour guide and also worked in private ventures for over six years before joining the party.

 

 

 

 

 

Similarly, 28-year-old Nim Dem is the party’s candidate from the Bji_Kartsho_Uesu Constituency in Haa. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bhutanese and Himalayan Studies from the College of Language and Cultural Studies in Taktse. Nim Dem started her career as a teacher and later became a full-time farmer. She worked as a Community Resource Person in Uesu Gewog before joining politics.

 

 

 

 

37-year-old Ugyen Gyeltshen will represent the party from Monggar Constituency in Monggar. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Geography from Sherubtse College. Before joining politics, he served as a marketing head of an e-commerce business and other private firms.

 

 

 

 

 

Likewise, 33-year-old Sangay Tshering is the party’s candidate from the South Thimphu Constituency for the upcoming elections. He graduated from the Royal Thimphu College with a Bachelor of Commerce. Before joining the party, Sangay managed sales operations at a Bhutan Duty-Free Limited Outlet. He also served as the chairperson of a dairy Cooperative.

 

 

 

 

And Sahadev Thapa is the party’s candidate from the Kilkhorthang_Mendrelgang constituency in Tsirang. The 60-year-old holds a Bachelor of Arts from Sherubtse College. He worked in the civil service for 27 years and ran for the National Assembly seat in the 2018 elections with the now-deregistered Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party.
