The Phuentshogling residents can now see a doctor right in the middle of the town. The hospital started outpatient department services at the core town beginning today. The move is to prevent COVID-19 transmission in the hospital amid the surge in the COVID-19 cases in the town.

The second floor of the multi-level car park is now not used by cars but by health care workers.

The health care workers have now resorted to treating patients in the parking lot. But services such as dental and X-rays are not available. It is spacious and well ventilated, perfect at this time of the pandemic.

Nearly 70 people came by afternoon.

“It is convenient for us to come here. We now don’t have to go to the hospital. We are grateful to His Majesty and the government. Even during lockdowns, we didn’t face many issues. Since I have a baby, the services here at taxi parking is a good move,” said Sonam Zangmo, a Phuentshogling resident.

“Since the hospital is a bit far from the town, transportation was an issue. Now, the services are available here, it is very convenient. We can just walk for the medical services,” said Kinley, another resident.

“Getting medical services amid the pandemic is never like before. Transportation is an issue too. The weather is also getting warmer day by day. So, the services here will benefit people living in the core town and nearby areas,” said Tenzin Thinley.

The multi-level car park was used as a flu clinic. But the flu clinic services are now provided at the Phuentshogling sports association area.

Meanwhile, Phuentshogling began the second phase of relaxation today. People are allowed to move within their Mega Zones without movement cards. All business establishments are allowed to operate.

As the town continues to detect positive cases from the community, the Southern COVID 19 Task Force reminds people to strictly follow COVID-19 protocols.
