The residents of Kela in Trongsa would soon have a blacktopped farm road. The blacktopping of a more than two-kilometre road began on Friday and will be completed by the end of this month.

The blacktopping of the farm road in Kela is in full swing. The farm road was constructed some ten years ago.

The work to improve the farm road began in January last year and was supposed to be ready in six months.

However, the Dzongkhag administration stopped the work in the summer. According to Dzongkhag Chief Engineer, this was done to ensure the quality and durability of the blacktopping. Similar eight other projects were also put on halt.

The work started again only in October last year. Despite the delay, he said there is no cost escalation. More than 60 households will be benefited.
