High Court affirms District Court’s judgment ordering BBSC to recruit the plaintiff

The High Court upheld the Trongsa District Court’s verdict last week. It asked the Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation (BBSC) to recruit the plaintiff with effect from July 1st. The High Court as well as the Trongsa District Court said the BBSC has not followed the labour ministry’s rules and regulations on recruitment and selection and the company’s service rule.

The plaintiff filed the case against BBSC in 2019 after BBS declared the final result of the selected candidates. He accused BBSC of manipulating the results and not recruiting him when he was on standby after the selected candidate withdrew when he was found doing fraudulent practice to get the job.

The BBSC floated two vacancies for the post of Dzongkha producer and anchor in March 2019.
