Following the five positive cases of COVID-19 detected from the community in Phuentshogling in the last two days, a team of nearly 20 officials from the Royal Center for Disease Control arrived in Phuentshogling for mass screening this afternoon. The mass screening started today.

More than 50 contacts of yesterday’s positive cases were traced. Of which 20 close contacts were put into quarantine centres. The health team started screening students and taxi drivers today.

The team from Thimphu started screening the front liners and the residents of the NHDCL colony. They will continue screening the entire population of the town in the next few days. Meanwhile, the home delivery services in Phuentshogling will start from tomorrow only.

Meanwhile, the country did not record any COVID-19 cases from the community in the last 24 hours. All the five cases detected in the last 24 hours were from the quarantine facilities. There are now 78 active cases in isolation across the country.
