Dhamngoi Zomdu for three thromdes ends

The Dhamngoi Zomdu for the Rinchending constituency under Phuentshogling Thromde was held today. The lone candidate from the constituency was nominated for the upcoming Thrompons elections. Karma Gelay, the lone candidate secured 16 votes out of 28 votes cast. There are more than 100 registered voters.

Meanwhile, there were no aspiring candidates from the Samdrupling constituency under Gelegphu Thromde.

With this, the Dhamngoi Zomdu for three thromdes, Thimphu, Phuentshogling, and Gelegphu concludes today.

Meanwhile, there are three selected candidates who will participate in the upcoming Thrompon election from Thimphu Thromde. Two candidates will contest for the Gelegphu Thrompon’s post. And, four aspiring candidates will take part in the general round of the Thromde election in Phuentshogling Thromde.

As per the notification from the Election Commission of Bhutan, the candidates will have to file their nominations with the ECB by next Monday.

The Thromde Elections will be held on the 28th of next month.
