The Centre for Bhutan and Gross National Happiness (GNH) Studies and the GNHCS will conduct the fourth Nationwide Gross National Happiness Survey from May this year. To this effect, a memorandum of understanding was signed among the CB&GNHS, GNHCS and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), this afternoon. JICA is supporting the survey estimated to cost Nu 22.4 M.

The survey will track changes in people’s happiness and wellbeing over time and across space. The results will be used for evaluating the current Five-Year Plan (FYP) activities and also as an input for the next FYP formulation.

More than 11,000 randomly selected respondents, above 15 years of age, throughout the country will be interviewed.
