To commemorate the Birthday of His Majesty The King, the Prime Minister and officials offered a thousand butter lamps at the Kuenrey hall of the Tashichhodzong today. The Prime Minister shared stories of a magnanimous monarch and his profound deeds for the nation and the people.

The event was organised with limited attendance. After the offering, the Prime Minister addressed the nation LIVE reminding people of how His Majesty The King steered the country safely in the wake of the pandemic.

“Ever since the pandemic hit the country last year, His Majesty did everything possible to keep the people safe. Had it not been for HIs Majesty’s care, concern, and deeds, we would have failed like many other countries and would have suffered. I want to personally appeal to the people today that even if we cannot share or bear the concern of His Majesty The King, we should at least pledge not to raise more concerns,” said Lyonchhen.
