The Public Service Call Centre 1010 facilitated the movement of 274 stranded people today. According to the centre, most districts have agreed to arrange transportation to ferry those stranded. All the travellers were tested prior to their departure.

Forty vehicles left for Haa, Chhukha and Wangdue Phodrang. The vehicles transporting them will travel in groups to minimise the risk of transmission along the way.

The DeSuups and police are escorting the vehicles to ensure smooth movement. The people will then have to spend seven days in quarantine at their destination.

As of today, the centre has facilitated the movement of more than 1,200 stranded people from Thimphu including 465 without vehicles.

The centre has recorded more than 3,800 stranded cases in Thimphu since the nationwide lockdown on 23rd December. Most of them are from Chhukha, Paro, Punakha and Wangdue Phodrang.

They had come to attend funerals, medical treatments and official meetings.
