Of the 12 new cases detected over the last 24 hours, one is a 49-year-old woman from Lhamoi Dzingkha Dungkhag in Dagana. She runs a business there.
So far, 22 primary contacts have been traced and tested for the virus. It includes her four family members. All of them tested negative on the rapid antigen test. The family members were also tested for RT-PCR and the results were all negative. However, some of the swab samples of the primary contacts have been sent to Phuentshogling for RT-PCR test along with the patient around 11 AM, today.
According to Lhamoi Dzingkha Dungpa Kinley Dorji, the woman and all her family members haven’t travelled outside the Dungkhag in the previous week. The Dungkhag Administration hasn’t imposed any travel restrictions for now.
Meanwhile, sample collections from the secondary contacts are still on-going. So far, over 200 close contacts have been traced.
