More than 496,000 Bhutanese are eligible to vote in the fourth National Assembly Elections. This is according to the final electoral roll released by the Election Commission of Bhutan released today. Of that, more than 254,000 are female and over 242,000 are male.
Samtse has the highest number of registered voters with more than 53,300, followed by Trashigang with over 52,900. Monggar has the third highest with more than 38,000.
Meanwhile, Gasa has the lowest number of registered voters with just 2,300.
According to the ECB’s final electoral roll, nearly 126,000 have registered for postal ballots.
During the third National Assembly Elections in 2018, the country saw over 438,000 eligible voters as per the ECB electoral roll.
A total of over 290,000 voters of the total registered voters turned up to cast their votes in the Primary Round which was a 66.36% voter turnout.
And during the recent National Council Elections held in April, there was a voter turnout of over 265,000 voters out of more than 485,000.
Meanwhile, the poll day for the primary round is set for the 30th of this month.
