The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country has reached 80 with two Middle-East returnees testing positive in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, there are currently only seven active cases in the isolation ward.  With two patients declared recovered in the latest report the total recoveries have reached 53. Also, three patients were moved to a de-isolation facility taking the total in de-isolation to 20.

While Bhutan continues to remain in the Orange zone with zero death, high recovery rate and no cases of community transmission so far, the Ministry of Health is urging every Bhutanese to abide by COVID-19 prevention measures including the
21-day quarantine for overseas returnees.

The ministry is also urging people residing in the Southern border areas to practise effective physical distancing, good personal hygiene and proper cough etiquette at all times.
