Sherub Gyeltshen won the 85-kilometre Cyclothon, which was held yesterday as a part of the 2nd Bhutan Bird Festival, at Tingtibi in Zhemgang.

Sherub completed the race in 3 hours 11 minutes.  He was followed closely by Norbu completing the race in 3 hours 12 minutes and Tshering Dhendup in 3 hours 13 minutes. All the three top cyclists are from the Royal Bhutan Army. They were awarded cash prizes of Nu 100,000, Nu 75,000 and Nu 50,000 respectively.

The winner of the Tour of the Dragon, Pelden Wangchuk, (20) was again recognised as the youngest participant in the cyclothon. He finished the race in the sixth place. He was, however, awarded a consolation prize of Nu 10,000 for being the youngest participant at the event.

15 cyclists from Thimphu, Gelephu and Zhemgang took part in the event.
