The Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) has declared 48-year-old Dr Sonam Wangyel Wang as its candidate from Lingmukha_Toedwang Constituency in Punakha.
Dr Sonam Wangyel has a PhD in Natural Resources Policy and Management from Cornell University in the US.
He has previously held various positions including the post of the Chief of the Department of Forest and Park Services and the Director of Bhutan Royal Education Council.
The DPT has declared 30 candidates so far.
