Sacred relics draw huge crowd

crowdToday is the third day of display of sacred relics belonging to prominent Buddhist masters in Thimphu. Thousands of devotees still continue to flock to the RAPA hall in Chubachu. Some of them come as early as 4 in the morning. People from the nearby dzongkhags have also come to pay their respect.

The relics include the Ringsel of Lord Buddha, his two disciples, Nagarjuna, Longchenpa, Marapa and Milarepa among others. A script written on a banana leaf by Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal, the hair relics of Dudjom Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche, Penor Rinpoche and the 16th Karmapa are also on the display.

These relics have been donated by Buddhist spiritual leaders from around the world.
