Thimphu district court passed the verdict on the case involving the organiser of Dance Khoray Dance, the reality show and the parent of the winner. The verdict was passed on September 25.
One of points stated in the verdict says that word ‘cheque bounce’ was not said by the parent when interviewed by BBS in August last year, which was done in dzongkha. Instead, it was misquoted while translating the interview to English. Therefore, verdict demands BBS to clarify.
According to the verdict, the organiser has to pay Nu.100,000 to the winner as per the agreement made between BICMA and the organiser.
The parent of the winner of Dance Khoray Dance had filed a case against the organizer in March this year for not receiving the prize. But the organiser had charged the parent for giving wrong information on BBS, especially on the ‘cheque bounce’ of Nu.100,000.
Meanwhile, the mother of the winner said she is thankful to the court as she got Nu.100, 000 as the prize.
