2,500 graduates sit for BCSE preliminary exam

More than 2,500 university graduates sat for preliminary examination of Bhutan Civil Service today. The preliminary exam was conducted to test the minimum standard required of a candidate to appear for the main examination. The results will be declared on 24th of this month.

The Royal Civil Service Commission will come up with the cut-off percentage based on the performance of the candidates. However, the marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be counted for main examination.

According to the Commission, there are 600 vacancies for those who perform well in the main examination. The figure is an increase of over 30 percent which is attributed to increased vacancies in teaching and technical graduates.

In 2011, over 1800 graduates appeared for preliminary examination.
