Eight Ambassadors present credentials to His Majesty

Eight new Ambassadors to Bhutan presented their credentials to His Majesty The King at the Kuenrey of the Tashichhodzong today. The Ambassadors are from the Argentine Republic, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Denmark, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the European Union, Republic of Maldives, Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, and the Slovak Republic. 

The Ambassador of Argentina Republic to Bhutan is  Daniel Chuburu. He holds a university degree in Economics and Business from Spain and served as the Ambassador to many countries including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Madagascar.

Al Gaoud Abdulrahman Mohamed Ahmed is the Ambassador of Kingdom of Bahrain to Bhutan. Before taking up the present responsibility, he had also served as the Ambassador of Bahrain to India, Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives.

Freddy Svane, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark entered the Danish Foreign Service in 1982 with Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Copenhagen. He had served as the Ambassador to different countries.

The Arab Republic of Egypt’s Ambassador to Bhutan is Dr Heba Salaheldin Elmarassi. She has a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the American University in Cairo.

The European Union Ambassador Ugo Astuto holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Rome. Born on 15th August 1964, he entered the Italian Diplomatic Service in 1991.

Aishath Mohamed Didi, the Republic of Maldives’ Ambassador to Bhutan has a Masters of Arts in Education in Developing Countries from the University of London. She joined the office as the Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Bhutan in July this year.

Nilamber Acharya, the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to Bhutan holds a Masters in Journalism from the Moscow State University, Russia. The former Minister of Law is a well-known political analyst, constitutional expert and civil society activist in Nepal.

And Ivan Lancaric, the Ambassador of Slovak Republic graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and completed his university studies from the Comenius University in Bratislava. Since 2018, he has been serving as the country’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka.
