CLCS former lecturers denied all charges against them

All the three former lecturers of the College of Language and Culture Studies in Trongsa charged for alleged sexual harassment denied all the charges against them.  They submitted their rebuttal statements to the Trongsa Court today.

One of the defendants said there should be concrete evidence such as eyewitness or evidence in the form of document or visuals.

One of the defendants charged for the alleged offence of sexual harassment on different occasions with the students said the allegation is untrue. The other defendant charged for unwelcome acts of sexual nature through pinching and touching the body inflicting emotional and mental distress, and forcefully kissing the girls also claimed it to be false.

Similarly, the third defendant alleged for touching the backside and thigh of girls at the college football ground said it is impossible for him to do such in the crowd, and denied the charges. The next hearing will be held on the 30th of this month.

The case came in the limelight after nineteen girls lodged a complaint with the College Management requesting an immediate investigation in May this year. Following which the Management compulsorily retired nine lecturers and a supporting staff as an administrative action. Office of the Attorney General returned the case to Trongsa Court after the charges of three accused were graded as a petty misdemeanour.
