Bhutan lost to Bangladesh in its opening match of the SAFF championship in Dhaka, Bangladesh yesterday.
A penalty in the third minute of the match and another goal just two minutes into the second half led to Bhutan losing with 0-2.
Despite matching toe-to-toe in terms of ball possession, Bhutanese forwards could not break the resilient and physical Bangladesh defence.
With the loss, Bhutan is now at the bottom of group A.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan defeated Nepal by two goals to one.
Bhutan will play against Nepal on Thursday. The final will be played on September 15.
