Compound archery team makes it to knockout round

The Bhutanese compound archery team at the 18th Asian Games has made it to the knockout round. The knockout round for both compound and recurve will take place today.

The archery team is made up of two women and six men.

Meanwhile, two more taekwondo athletes were eliminated.  The only remaining taekwondo athlete will face Nepal in the below 68kg category today.

And the country’s lone golfer at the games, Ugyen Dorji, will make his appearance today as well.

A total of 24 Bhutanese athletes are in Jakarta, Indonesia to represent the country at the games. Bhutan is competing in archery, boxing, golf and taekwondo.

The Asian Games is a continental multi-sport event held every four years. Athletes from 44 other countries are taking part in this year’s game.

Bhutan has participated in the Asian Games since 1980.
