Samten Dorji, the Tsula Lopen, said the project is initiated for the peace and well-being of the Kings, country and people and also for the country’s sovereignty.

The three year project began in 2005 but works got stalled because of fund shortage.

The coordinator, Tsampa Sangay Tenzin, said the project has been riddled with financial crisis right from the inception.

The Coordinator said apart from Dratshangs, Shedras, Drubdeys, Lobdras and Lhakhangs, the project has also promised to contribute a thousand Zhabdrung statues to the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong.
