The Wangdue Dzongkhag Court sentenced a 37-year-old woman to three years for illegally trading tobacco products, yesterday.
The woman from Payteykha village in Tsangkha Gewog under Dagana Dzongkhag, was sentenced with a felony of fourth degree, which is non-bailable.
Police raided her shop, following a search warrant from the court, which, the Bhutan Narcotics Control Agency had requested, after receiving a written complaint.
The woman had failed to produce receipts for purchasing tobacco and its products when the police demanded.
