Thimphu Police arrested a woman for forgery Tuesday. The suspect had allegedly withdrawn Nu 10,000 from her friend’s bank account.
The friend received withdrawal alert through text message after the accused withdrew the money by providing her thumb print and copy of her identity card.
The account holder had then lodged a complaint with the bank and the bank reported the case to the police.
The suspect had supposedly borrowed the account number from the account holder under the pretext of receiving some money from elsewhere.
Police are investigating the case.
