Woman and grandson allegedly murderedA woman, 60, and her 16-year-old grandson were allegedly murdered at Kuenga Rabten under Draagteng Gewog in Trongsa, last night. Their throats were slit open and medical reports say the victims succumbed to heavy head and neck injuries.

The incident is supposed to have taken place when they were sleeping. However, no one knows the exact time of the incident and who did it.

The police officials, who were at the site, said even though a few cash boxes were opened, nothing was taken from the house, not even the jewellery on the woman’s neck.

The boy was a class seven student of Samcholing Middle Secondary School. The woman is survived by her three children.

Police said there is a reward of Nu 50,000 for anyone with the information of the suspects and their whereabouts.
