Thimphu-TechParkAfter more than a year, the commercial space on the first floor of the Thimphu TechPark, the country’s first IT Park was developed in May, this year. The right wing is occupied by the ScanCafe, a US registered firm. ScanCafe specialises in digitising and editing older formats of photography and video. The company has already employed more than 130. They are expecting to create additional jobs. The left wing which has been developed is still vacant.

The Park is expecting Shaun Communications, also a US registered company to occupy. Currently they are operating from the ground floor. Shaun Communications is a Business Processes outsourcing (BPO) limited liability Company. It specializes in voice BPO also known as call center. However the commercial spaces on the second floor is still vacant.  Is the operation of the Thimphu TechPark on track? What about the plans to generate jobs and of becoming a regional IT Park? To discuss more on this we have news hour after the news.
