Phuentshogling Thromde would most likely have just two candidates contesting for the post of the thrompon. Jigme Dorji from Richending Constituency is out of the race as he did not file in his nomination. He was unable to obtain the required documents. The last date to file in the nomination was today.
The other candidate, Sangay Tamang of Pekharzhing Constituency submitted her nomination with incomplete documents.
They said it was difficult to obtain required documents within a short period of time. They got about three days to collect all the documents.
Uttar Rai from Nyedra Constituency and Tsheten Dorji from Phuentshogling Maed Constituency are still in the race.
The Election Commission of Bhutan will complete the scrutiny process tomorrow.
