The Prime Minister of Thailand, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, will arrive in the country tomorrow on a two-day official visit.
This is Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s first official visit to Bhutan. He is visiting the country at the invitation of Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay.
During the visit, the Thai prime minister will receive an audience with His Majesty The King.
Bhutan and Thailand enjoy warm and cordial relations. The two countries established formal diplomatic relations in November 1989.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the visit marks an important milestone in the close and friendly relations between the two kingdoms.
The visit is also a part of the tradition of regular exchange of high-level visits between the two countries.
The foreign ministry also said the visit will provide impetus to the strong ties of friendship and goodwill between the Royal Families, governments, leaders and the people of the two countries.
