The Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley and the Education Minister Lyonpo Thakur Singh Powdyel signed the Tertiary Education Compact yesterday.

Lyonchhen said Tertiary Education Compact will help in the expansion of tertiary education in the country.

The Education Minister said the compact is aimed at shifting Bhutan to a knowledge based society and as an educational hub in certain national priority areas.

The Tertiary Education policy will serve as a key document to the development of many successive programs and activities leading to a dynamic education system in the country.
