Police in Thimphu have arrested seven men for stealing and slaughtering cattle.
The police had first arrested two men last month from Shongchhi-Phakha near the education city project area. According to the police, they had received reports from farmers of Maedwang Gewog in Thimphu and Dokar in Paro who lost about 40 cattle from the place since 2019. The suspects had been slaughtering the animals in odd hours. All the suspects are from Samtse and some of them worked in meat shops.
