Seven people have been arrested for the theft of a pair of elephant tusks from the Jangchup Choling Dratshang in Lhuentse.
A complaint about the tusks was made last month when the Home and Cultural Affairs Ministry found that they were missing during a record verification.
The Police told BBS that some suspects have confessed that they had stolen the elephant tusks about two years ago.
The Police said the tusks have already been sold outside the country.
