The South Asia Initiative to End Violence against Children or SAIVAC, in short, will be organising a four day consultative meeting on eliminating harmful practices affecting children from tomorrow.
SAIVAC’s Director General, Rinchen Chophel, points out that that there is a need for open discussion of harmful practices based on culture, religion and superstition in the South Asian region. He added that even Bhutan faces the problem of child marriages and other cultural issues that propagate the victimisation of children.
