To commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, the second Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition will start from this Saturday. The Gyaltsuen was born on June 4.
The exhibition will be held until June 8 at Ugyen Pelri Palace in Paro.
The exhibition will cover over 18 acres.
Various participants including the armed forces, the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Natural Resources Development Corporation, and private florists will take part in the event.
It will also have international participants including the world-renowned bonsai experts.
An open talk series on “Innovations in Green Urban Planning and Landscaping”, where experts and plant enthusiasts share their experiences and expertise, will be held alongside the exhibition.
Among the speakers are His Serene Highness Prince Bhisatej Rajani of Thailand, and Bonsai Master Masashi Hirao of Japan.
Upon the command of His Majesty the King, the first Royal Bhutan Flower Exhibition, held in April, last year.
A press release from agriculture ministry said the exhibition will draw inspiration from His Majesty’s message from the inaugural event last year.
“Where we live must be clean, safe, organised, and beautiful, for national integrity, national pride, and for our bright future. This too is nation building,” His Majesty had said.
Ministry of Agriculture and Forests with support of Paro Dzongkhag, World Wildlife Fund-Bhutan, Royal Society for Protection of Nature, Tourism Council of Bhutan, Druk Holding and Investments and Bhutan Power Corporation, is organising the event.
