The first women’s Nazhoen Pelri Treatment and Rehabilitation centre for Drug and alcohol dependence was opened today in the capital.
The centre was opened after a survey by the Bhutan Narcotic Control Authority found that the number of female drug users in the capital was found out to be significant.
The new rehab centre will initially cater to eight patients but the number is trickling in. Like the man’s rehab centre it will use cognitive behavior therapy approach as a treatment method.
The rehab centre is located at Serbithang in close proximity with the rehab centre for men.
