Police pledge to make society safe for children

Chief of Police, Colonel Chimi Dorji

The new Chief of Police, Colonel Chimi Dorji, said the increasing number of crime among the youth is because of bad choices and disengaged parenting.

During annual superintendent of police conference in Thimphu, today, the chief pledged to make the society safe for children.

They will finalise the Standard Operating Procedure for dealing with children in conflict with law and youth resiliency skills development curriculum for children admitted in Youth Development Rehabilitation Centre.

About 30 superintendents of police attended the eight-day conference which started today.
