PM’s charitable account accumulates Nu 1 M

PM’s charitable account accumulates Nu 1 MThe Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay accumulated nearly Nu 1 M from his salary for charitable cause as his promise to donate Nu 50,000 from his monthly salary.

He had promised he will accept the salary equivalent to that of a minister and the rest will be donated for charitable cause.

The promise was made during the pay revision in 2014.

Lyonchhen said the charitable amount deducted from his salary goes directly to a separate account.

Lyonchhen donated over Nu 500,000 to one of the foundations, last year.

As of now, the separate account has about Nu 400,000.
