The Prime Minister, Jigmi Y.Thinley began his official engagements in New York by meeting several heads of States and Governments and Foreign Ministers.
Lyonchheon met with the President of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, the Prime Minister of Somalia, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali and President of the Republic of Albania, Bujar Nishani.
He also met the Foreign Minister of Algeria, Mourad Medelci, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, Kim Sung-Hwan.
Lyonchhoen discussed strengthening bilateral relations and potential areas of cooperation with them. Cooperation at the UN was among the topics that were discussed.
The Prime Minister is currently in New York, leading the Bhutanese delegation, for the 67th Session of United Nations General Assembly.
The high-level segment of the General Debate opened today under the Presidency of Vuk Jeremic of Serbia.
Lyonchhoen is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 28.
