The Supreme Court upheld the lower court’s judgement that convicted Tshering Yangki of battery and trespassing in Wamrong. The court passed the judgement today.
Tshering Yangki appealed to the Supreme Court in August. She was sentenced to a concurrent prison term of 18 months for battery and trespassing. She was also ordered to pay more than 260 thousand ngultrum as compensation to the victim.
The incident came to the limelight after a short video clip of her assaulting the victim went viral on Facebook. The incident happened in April last year.
