Motorists in Panbang, Zhemgang depend on the Damchen Petroleum Company Limited (DPCL) fuel depot located at Tungkutenpa. But the fuel depot could not serve the petrol cars as the pump went out of order since June 24th.
The management of the fuel depot said that they have about eighteen hundred thousand litres of petrol in stock but cant dispense it as the pump is out of order. DPCL officials added that due to roadblocks, they could not fix the error pump promptly as their expertise has to travel either from Gelegphu or Assam. The pump is expected to be fixed only after the roadblocks are cleared.
After almost 20 days of running on the reserve fuel, Motorists in Panbang said they are in dire need of petrol for their cars. They alleged that the fuel depot runs into the same problem every time when they are in need and cut off from other places.
Meanwhile, many residents there also ran out of Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinders and are now depending on the erratic power supply.
