Four more business owners in Thimphu were arrested for operating their businesses after 9 PM last week. Thimphu police forwarded the cases to the court and they will be charged for Breaching Public Order and Tranquility as per section 448 of the Penal Code of Bhutan.

According to police, there are also some business owners who are operating their businesses illegally after 9 PM by locking their shops from outside. And, some are even found operating without a license. Police said these perpetrators will be charged separately.

The Department of Trade in collaboration with police and DeSuups started checking the licenses of those operating businesses.

Till date, Thimphu police have apprehended 19 businesses for breaching the law.
